Android users, your wait for an amazing photo-filtering & photo sharing app is going to be over soon for your Google’s mobile operating system operated phone.
Instagram, the trendy photo-filtering and sharing app, is on its way to Google’s mobile operating system “Android”. The Android edition of Instagram is at present being tested in private beta and will be launched “very soon.”
Co-founder Kevin Systrom announced at SXSW Sunday that the long-awaited Android edition of Instagram is almost here. He tells the edition on stage, but didn’t present a demonstration.
“In various ways, it’s superior to our iOS app. It’s crazy,” Systrom said. In a Q&A subsequent his presentation, Systrom said the app is quick, works immense on large screens and can share photos to Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and other social networks.
Systrom also announce on Sunday that the iOS version of Instagram — which was named Apple’s iOS app of the year last year — has seen some 27 million downloads.
