Seven Mobile Apps is shutting down from Yahoo including one of the famous apps known as Blackberry & the same move being followed by Google’s new CEO Marissa Mayer to block unsucessfull apps like en-masse.
This news of products shutdown was launched by company on its official blog & where the company describes that the company is putting best efforts to review as well as evaluate its different products.
Yahoo’s executive vice president of Platforms Jay Rossiter wrote in an article that “The most critical question we ask is whether the experience is truly a daily habit that still resonates for all of you today.”
Again Yahoo initiated secondgroup shutdown of products after Mayer became CEO of struggling web portals of Google where he ordered to shutdown multiple products at that time.
Around 60-75 Mobile Apps should be closed by Yahoo as per news came from press conference in last month done by Mayers, already 12-15 apps more to be managed from Yahoo’s end.
Again Yahoo will stop its services like Avatars i.e. cartoon like digital characters from April 1, 2013 where consumers depicts themselves in Yahoo Messengers &Facebook, but from now on consumers have to download this feature & then re-upload it into the messenger.
Yahoo Sports IQ, Yahoo Clues, Yahoo Updates API, Yahoo App Search & Yahoo Message Boards website were some of the products soon to be terminated from company’s end.
RIM CEO Thorsten Heins has given a small preview of BlackBerry OS 10 at BlackBerry World in Orlando. This device looks like previous version of the BlackBerry PlayBook with having features like a 4.2-inch display having a resolution of 1280×768 pixels, NFC, and a micro-SIM tray. They also showcased some features of the new OS.

As per RIM this new OS is build only for a touch devices only.As per its looks,the keyboard is just like other hardware keyboard which included even the frets separating rows that one has come accustomed with in the higher-end Bold series of BlackBerry smartphones.
RIM says that it has succeded in reduced the latency between a touch interaction for a flawless typing experience. In showcasing the keyboard,the company showed off intelligent features like word prediction, gestures and input mapping. These features are very similar to the third party SwiftKey keyboard available for Android. For instance, the input mapping feature basically detects where the user normally hits the key and then the keyboard adapts to the user. The same feature is achieved on a BB 10 keyboard. Gestures in the keyboard include swipe to delete text, swipe to unveil symbols and numbers and word prediction would help eliminate keystrokes and predict words in a sentence stream.
The most unique feature is the camera application. The new BlackBerry camera app allows the user to just tap on the screen to take a snap. But in addition to that there is a hidden timeline tool which allows the user to select the moment before or after the snapshot, to get a perfect shot. This will be beneficial and handy for getting rid of closed eyes and missed moments. In all environments, the camera would take a shot as soon as the user has focused, but before hitting the shutter and another shot after trrigerred
RIM has not given any any official specific timeline for the launch of the first BB 10 smartphone but it is expected to hit the market by this year end
