Industry’s First FTTD Solution launched by Huawei

Posted on 11 February 2013 by bbiswajitece

One of the global leader in ICT i.e. Information & Communication Technology providing unique service to the consumer i.e. one & only fiber to the door (FTTD) solution.

Being an ultra broasband solution it provides data rates of around 100 Mbit/s to 1000 Mbit/s quite fast via. twisted pair or coaxial cables by developing different types of technologies, project implementation technologies, service provisioning & OAM technologies.

In this modern world for accessing large size videos & use the cloud services consumers need ultra broadband solutions. Already the earlier techniques like FTXX i.e. categorized into two parts like  FTTB and FTTH. Some cons & pros of using FTTB are like limited bandwidth, power supply issues based on different kinds of site location, grounding issues. Similarly, in case of FTTH most problem anyone faces is high cost, long installation time, drop fiber installation. Nowadays telco opertors are providing higher bandwidth at home by using copper cables rather than fiber cables.

So, if we talk about FTTD there are some quite advantages i.e. free grounding, reverse power supply, free configuration to support the plug-and-play feature &  no need to perform on-site configurations. Again FTTH OSS system is reused for OAM & service provisioning & the same equipments is easy to handled.

huaweifttd

President, Access Network Product Line at Huawei You Yiyong told “Huawei is dedicated to continuous customer-centric innovation. We believe that the FTTD solution can help our customers resolve difficulties in deploying FTTH networks. Relying on the advantages of the FTTD solution such as ultra-broadband access through any medium, simple deployment, and remote management, operators can stay ahead of the fierce market competition and achieve business success.”

2 Tbit/s WDM field trial completed on Vodafone Networks by Huawei

Posted on 26 January 2013 by bbiswajitece

Huawei the leader in communication based technology has recently tested 2 Tbit/s OFC transmission on Vodafone’s network on Germany & completed a successful trial for the first time in the world.

This trial was tested on 3,325 km distance over a ultra-long haul solution which is around 20 times faster than earlier deployed transmission system of 100G which could provide download of 30 HD videos in one second.

huaweivodafone

Nowadays traffic is increasing on carrier networks beyond 100G. Recently new technologies are put into use like flex modulation, super SD-FEC, flex oDSP. The field trial of 1500 km possess super-channel PDM-16QAM-based high spectral efficiency solution & for 3325 km contains super-channel Nyquist PDM-QPSK-based ultra-long-haul solution.

Huawei has run this trial with the help of transmission links like G.652 fibers and erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs) without electrical regeneration in middle & south Germany.

STC selects Huawei”s photonic integration technology for metro WDM

Posted on 26 April 2012 by sakshi

SAUDI TELECOM Co adapts Huawei”s photonic integration technology for metro Wave Division Multiplexing.

HUAWEI has achieved  another milestone by grabbing the contract from Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) by allowing them to use their photonic integration technology. STC has selected metro WDM products from Huawei Technologies Co Ltd. for its next generation metro WDM networks in Saudi Arabia. Huawei says STC will be the first operator in the Middle East to deploy metro WDM equipment based on its photonic integrated device (PID) technology.

PID technology greatly simplifies the WDM architecture by integrating multiple key photonic components of the WDM system, such as lasers, modulators, detectors, multiplexers and demultiplexers, into a 5 cm PID chip, the company claims. Compared to a traditional WDM network, a PID enabled WDM network can save up to 50% on space and power and have 90% fewer fiber connections. In addition, due to its simple design and structure, PID technology makes it easier to deploy and maintain next generation metro WDM networks.

As the biggest operator in the Middle East, STC has developed IPTV and mobile broadband services in recent years, rapidly expanding the growth of metro network services in Saudi Arabia. Against this backdrop, STC is now facing an urgent demand to construct high-bandwidth metro networks.

“The PID technology helps us construct advanced metro WDM networks, provide multi granularity services quickly and easily, and serve our customers more agilely,” said Eng. Khaled I. Al Dharrab, transport network director of STC.

Huawei says it has successfully applied its PID technology around the world, including in Western Europe, Asia Pacific, South America, and the Commonwealth of the Independent States. In addition, it acquired UKphotonic integration specialist the Center for Integrated Photonics (CIP) in January (see “Huawei bolsters R&D with acquisition of CIP Technologies”).
