Mobile Tariff hike has been announced by Reliance Communication by 20 percent. Again there is 65 percent reduction in the promotional and concessional offers from the company end. All the existing & new customers will enjoy the new tariff plan which will soon put into immediate effect. Reliance Communication will put 20-30 percent hike in tariff mostly in Commitment Plans where larger portion of company’s user base use this plan.

The different Commitment Plans offered by the company were as follows: Commitment Plan 21, Commitment Plan 45, Commitment Plan 48 and Commitment Plan 46. 1.2 paisa per second is the hiked tariff rate from 1 paisa per second in case of plans like Commitment Plan 21 and Commitment Plan 45.

Reliance Communications, Chief Executive Officer, Gurdeep Singh commented “Our headline tariff increase from 1.2 to 1.5 paisa per second in October last year did not see any traffic elasticity and there has been no fall in customer demand or change in usage patterns, as we successfully migrated our entire base to the Headline Tariff. With the Indian telecom industry now heading for a phase of consolidation, with smaller operators shutting down or scaling down their operations and easing off hyper-competitive pressures, this will help pricing power move back to serious, long-term and pan-India scale operators and positively impact profitability. We have now corrected all Commitment Plans across the country and have increased tariffs by between 20 per cent and 30 per cent.”

        New attractive First recharge is available on  Dual-SIM mobile phone as per news came from Tata Docomo for such deserving prepaid customers only in Karnataka circle. First Recharge option is only available for those customers who were willing to purchase new SIM for Rs 20.

Again Dongles, Tablets or Smartphone users can only avail this First Recharge option especially designed for tech freak customers. Similarly this recharge voucher is priced at Rs 499 only for dongle users who can only avail the new SIM to get high speed data benefit.

BSNL the India’s first premium telecommunication company owned by the Govt. has again successfully launched two new combo sms & data prepaid vouchers for subscribers/customers residing in Kerala circle.

 2G data downloading and free SMS only at Rs 17 & 67. Users can send SMS’s to both BSNL’s On-net & Off-net & also at the same time data downloading with 2G speeds in a certain validity period.

The first SMS combo plan offers 90 SMS within BSNL Local network & also within other network & 90 MB of 2G data for a period of 15 days priced at Rs 17.

The last & final SMS combo plans offers 400 SMS within BSNL Local network & also within other network & 400 MB of 2G data for a period of 30 days priced at Rs 67.

A low cost data plan has introduced by mobile operator Aircel & by introducing this offer company’s main objective was to push the threshold mark of mobile internet. The plan has named as PI 24 under brand name Pocket Internet. The users can avail this facility for 30 days with 100 MB usage of data.

Right now the above plan is available for 2G customers but the company is planning to launch the similar kind of offer to 3G customers. Again if the data volume usage finishes beyond 100 MB then the customer has only two option one is to recharge the plan again & another is to switch to another plan.

A special roaming packs has been launched  for all Airtel based international customers to receive five hours of incoming calls mostly to the postpaid segment customer & outgoing call at 20 rs per minute only n U.S. & in the countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia, Germany, the United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom, the customers will avail 40 rs per minute for outgoing calls.

Rs 779 and Rs 1,479 are the following recharge packs available to reduce the incoming & outgoing call rates to 20 rs per minute in some selected countries with full talk time packs. Both these packs can be used internationally & also in India.

In November 2012, Airtel has launched the same roaming packs in African soils to its mobile customers by making incoming calls free.

Govt. based telco operator BSNL again has launched some attractive plan in SMSes segment in Chennai & Tamil Nadu circle for STV 19 & 72.

To activate this above pack users need to send SMS19 to 53733 or SMS72 to 53733. Rs.16.91 and Rs.64.08 will be the respective charges for those users who will activate this following packs via. SMS.

3G Yearly data plan has been launched by Govt. owned telco operator BSNL for all prepaid customers across pan-India basis. Actually this is a promotional offer from BSNL for both existing & new customers with 90 days validity effective from 15th April 2013.

Rs 3299, Rs 2299 and Rs 1251 were the different denominations of 3G yearly data plans with 12 months validity. 2.5 GB per month data will be offered with DPV-3299 for 12 months.1.5 GB per month 3G data will be offered with DPV-2299 for 12 months.0.75 GB per month 3G data will be offered with DPV-1251 for 12 months.

Some plans has been withdrawn by BSNL like denomination of Rs 331, Rs 551, Rs 1103 and Rs 2206 which belongs to 3G Combo Data STVs, denominations of Rs 80, Rs 751 and Rs 1000 which belongs to 3G Data STVs for Tablet plan & denomination of Rs 1500, Rs 2200 and Rs 3000 which belongs to Data STVs for 3G Routers.

A free roaming plan has been put forwarded by Vodafone to the mobile customers in Kerala who are frequently travelling towards the neighboring states like Tamil Nadu & Karnataka.

This plan can be regarded as operator’s first plan to make the incoming calls free while the customers from Kerala where on roaming, so they can rejoice the plan.

To enjoy the free roaming option Vodafone India has launched a 21 rs bonus card for Kerala’s customers when they are visit to states like Karnataka & Tamil Nadu, this card will make their incoming call free but their outgoing calls will be charged at 1.2 p/sec. 30 days is the estimated time for this tariff plan.

There is a simple activation procedure for this new tariff plan for Vodafone’s customer in Kerala i.e. by sending sms to “BONUS R21″ to 144.

One & only reason behind the introduction of such plan is to keep the Kerala’s customer hassle free since they move to this states like Tamil Nadu & Kerala for daily business purposes.

Recently MTNL has introduced a 3G starter pack in the prepaid segment for Home and Roaming calls in Delhi circle at per second pulse rate of Rs 127.

The facilities provided from  MTNL Starter Pack 127 at Rs 124 gives us a Free 3G SIM Card and Plan Voucher (FRC) which provides lot of  offers  like 127 Min Local (Any N/w), 127 Min STD Calls, 127 Local SMS (Any N/w), 127 National SMS and 127 MB 3G Data with 30 days validity from the date of activation.

1 paisa per second will be charged fot MTNL Local (Mobile\Landline) Voice & Video Calls & also Voice Calls to other network. 1.2p/Sec (6 paisa for 5 seconds) will be charged for STD & National Roaming Call to any other network.

 As we know that Videocon Mobile Services a part of $4 billion Videocon Group, has made a bold decision to make roaming free on pan india basis by making incoming calls free. To avail this benefit, customers have to make a special recharge.

Earlier if the customers was on roaming then for local call the rate will be Re 1 per minute, std call the rate will be Rs 1.5 per minute, Local & STD roaming SMS charges will be Rs 3.45, 10paise per 10kb is the data consumption.  

2.06 million is the current subscriber base by February month as per COAI & offering services in seven circles.

One Nation, One Rate Policy has to be already followed by Aircel in January 2013 for Voice, SMS and Data as a one rate in home circles & roaming.
