India’s Leading Telco operators Airtel has come up with a new strategy of increasing the existing tariff plan by 20 percent over the last 18 months. Right now Airtel will make the base tariff plan of around Rs 2 per minute.
If we talk about tariff plans mostly there are two of them i.e. Advantage & Freedom both for Voice & SMS services. First tariff plan will now offers 60 p per min from 50 p per min for local & STD mobile calls & 90 p per min for Landline. Re 1 for Local SMS & Rs 1.50 for national SMS. These tariff will be effective for those users also who are using earlier tariff plans & this new tariff plans will be activated after the old tariff plan comes to an end. Latter the tariff plan will give 1.2 p for local & STD mobile, earlier which was 1 p. This tariff will be effective in all its circles in upcoming 2 months.
Similarly many big operators like Idea, Vodafone are too revising their tariff plans for SMS, Voice & Data services in the past few months, mostly likely with regards to Govt. decision on free roaming.

Again if we see at first Tata Docomo raised their per second billing plan in GSM services past 2 years ago in all its circles so Airtel may be considered as the 2nd operator to join this war.
Again if we talk about Airtel leading persons then they put a comment like ‘’ “There is no change in the headline tariff. In most circles we have reduced promotional benefits and free minutes on both acquisition and existing usage. We are committed to enhance value for our customers through continued investments in network, technology, customer experience and life enriching services.”
